Montezuma Waterfalls – One of the things you must do while in Santa Teresa, is taking a day trip to the Montezuma waterfalls. Renting an ATV is probably the most enjoyable way to discover the town’s oceanic wonders. The lengthier, more scenic route along the coast is well worth the extra 15-20 minutes it takes to get there. The property will gladly give you directions or plan a canopy tour for you while you are there. Once you arrive in Montezum, the parking area is on your left and a small, well-shaded area is available to protect your car / AV. Adjacent to the bridge you will find freshly cut coconuts as a refreshing beverage before you embark on your hike. You can either avail the services of a guide or see the places on your own. Give the guides a decent “tip” and they won’t disappoint you and show you places you might haven’t seen otherwise. It’s best to wear hard wearing, yet comfortable shoes. You will be walking through wet, slippery rocks as well as muddy hills. At the waterfalls you will most likely see locals jumping and diving from rocks above the falls.
